Muffins, Cobbler and Storms.. Oh My!

Our Sunday began with a rather ominous looking sky.

The Heavens are parting… or so it seems!

Really, it was so strange ~ almost looked like we were living in Colorado mountains for awhile! Thankfully, the storm front only brought us some nice rain and just a few thunder-boomers. It also delivered some nice, cooler temps for the day, which worked out great for my blueberry-baking plans.

We had muffins with brunch ~

And Blueberry Cobbler this evening. I felt a little creative and made cut-outs for the top crust with some little cookie cutters. We took the cobbler with us to visit my parents. They supplied the ice cream accompaniment. We all enjoyed it! This is the before-baking picture~

After-baking – the chunky sugar crystals on top made it better I thought…

I may try this cookie-cutter method again next time. For me, it was easier than trying to keep a whole top crust together during transfer to the cobbler (or pie). I always manage to make a mess of that!

Hope everyone had a great weekend!

We are having terrible storms here in Tn. tonight!
Oh, I need to get busy and start picking blackberries. I'll be sorry when comes, and there is no yummy cobbler on a cold night!

Thanks so much for helping me with the siggie! I finally got it right! Now I need to learn how to do the pics with a sig.
You are so right-I have learned to do so much because of this blog! Never thought I could do ANY of this stuff. Makes me feel down-right smart! :)

Blessings to you! Misha

The muffins and cobbler look scrumptuous! The stars and hearts with the glittery sugar make the cobbler so pretty.

Those are some wicked looking clouds. We were caught in an inch and a half down pour at the steam engine show, under an 8 ft canopy. SCARRY with all the lightning and being under huge Oak tres. But we survived, just soaked.

Those are great photos of the clouds. I saw the same types of clouds going through the Lake of the Ozarks. Very scary looking. I love the cobbler with the cutouts.

Your cobbler is adorable! What a super idea to put the cookie cutter cut-outs on top. I want to try that :)
