Thursday WalkAbout: January

We’ve seen it all this January in Missouri. Snow, rain, sleet – we expect that! 70 degree temps and cilantro growing in the garden? Hmmm. Now that, my friends, is a wonderful gift.
This walkabout is from earlier this month -- on one of our “gifts” type of days. The creek was thawing and the waterfall was running full speed.

Today, however, January is going out true to its winter spirit.. blustery cold! (but the cilantro still survives.. strange!)
I love to think of nature as an unlimited broadcasting station, through which God speaks to us every hour, if we will only tune in.

One Minute Trip to the Moon.. and Back

Tonight’s superzoom video of the moon is a little bit like dancing with the moon. It’s a little challenging to hold it steady on superzoom.

I’d look for an American flag, but I think that might be pushing it a tad.. what do you think?
I also read that all but one of the American flags that were placed on the moon are still standing (per NASA). The only problem is they have all turned white – bleached by sunlight. Imagine that!

peace out

Perfect Faith

birds jan 2013_collage

The reason birds can fly and we can't is simply that they have perfect faith, for to have faith is to have wings.

Goodnight Moon… and Brrrrr

Took me long enough to finally get a decent shot of the moon. 12 degrees out there tonight  - yes, I must be crazy!

This lovely Redhead looks over her bovine family. Red lost her equine family a few years ago due to a lightning strike.. so sad. But she truly loves her cows.

Of course, there must be fresh water 24/7. Every day when it’s cold, the watering hole must be checked.

There has been much fixing-up going on in this feeding area over the past couple years. We now have swinging gates.. woo hoo! Also, much of the old broken-up wood fence has been replaced with new.

Project to come… Barn..

At least someone started to paint… but now, looks like we need new boards.

One thing is certain ~ on the farm, there is always always *always* something to do!

What’s going on in your neck of the woods?
