He is back at it! Forging, that is. Mr. W has a brand new shop, awaiting insulation (yay!). Till then, he is still forging Garden Trowels and other Good Things in his old Blacksmith Shop (my future She Shed, Potting Shed, etc.. yay for me too!).
Here is a little glimpse at what it takes to make a garden trowel from a railroad spike.
Only the best finished products are kept. That is a “scrapper” you see on the lower right.
These are, without a doubt, the sturdiest trowels ever.. with a nice “feel” in the hand. Made to last a lifetime.. they make awesome and meaningful gifts for almost any occasion. Railroad Spike Trowels are always available in the Flat Creek Forge Etsy shop (with free shipping!).

SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO good to see a post from you. Been thinking about you :0! Wow, your hubby is extremely talented. But I'm thinking its pretty HOT working on that kind of stuff this time of year. Blacksmithing seems more of a wintertime endeavor to me LOL. Blessings to you my friend!
Okay, going to have to have a trowel made by your blacksmith. Be back later today!
Well, golllly -- didn't know you had an Etsy shop.
Will check it out.
So cool.
Will have to take a peek.

that is SO fabulous...a work of art...beautiful, useful, functional...LOVE IT!
I'm trying to figure out how to buy the trowel on etsy...lordy, why is it so difficult? Any words of faith, inspiration and help?
Neat pictures. It looks like a lot of work, but the finished product is beautiful.
Congratulations on the soon to be she shed! That garden trowel is pretty cool
Free shipping? What a bargain! I'm hoping for a personal invitation to tour the shop. Then us girls can escape real quickly and go on to "other" thing!
