The group anticipates.
View from the rear window of the farm truck…
This lovely Redhead looks over her bovine family. Red lost her equine family a few years ago due to a lightning strike.. so sad. But she truly loves her cows.
Two mamas-to-be.
Unloading hay…
Of course, there must be fresh water 24/7. Every day when it’s cold, the watering hole must be checked.
There has been much fixing-up going on in this feeding area over the past couple years. We now have swinging gates.. woo hoo! Also, much of the old broken-up wood fence has been replaced with new.
Project to come… Barn..
At least someone started to paint… but now, looks like we need new boards.
One thing is certain ~ on the farm, there is always always *always* something to do!
What’s going on in your neck of the woods?

Great photos. It seems like chores are an all day event in the winter. I hope to do a lot of cleaning and fixing in my barnyard this year.
very true. love all the cattle - sweet expectant moms!!!
That #79 looks mean!
Beautiful pictures as always.
As for the cold, I don't like it, I want snow instead!
I love seeing cows breath in the cold!!! Such a warm barny type of feel!
A busy life you lead! :)
We are busy working and having fun.
M :)
Hey Tammy!!!.. :) We have a warm up in progress. We still have ice from last Saturday's storm. Looks like you got more white than we did. Red is gorgeous. Those are some WIDE Mama cows! A barn? Cool!
So beautiful. I wish I could come and repair and paint that wall for you!
I used to love doing things like that 'down on the farm'!

I love your cows! And yet, I didn't realize you had cattle. How many??!
Chores. Different methods, different regions, different equipment,(but we have the same hay racks) different cows, but the chores all get done. I also just did a blog post on this chilly task. Come see the way this Vermonter did it early this am, when you have a chance;

Happy New Year!
Hmmmmmm!! This looks like feeding on our farm! Great photos, farming is a beautiful life :0!
Your pictures are wonderful! Suddenly, painting our small bathroom doesn't seem like such a big chore, looking at that barn.
Love the winter photos, and the cows, lovely, and I love the photo of Sweet Girl, beautiful. There certainly is a lot to do on the farm, enjoy!
I may have to fall in love with your moo-cows. What beautiful faces.
Your pictures of farm life in winter are wonderful. And I'm sure there is enough to do on a farm to keep at least 10 people busy year round! I still remember that PBS show that they did several years back where they took a real honest look at all that farming involves.
Love all these pictures (as usual)! That "red" looks like a draft (Clyde?) cross... We're right with ya fixing fences and checking water. At least cows don't wear blankets! Wishing you all cozy nights and warm days!
hugs,
Leslie
