Lonesome Doves

Just popping in before I return outdoors to the Summer Oven. This may be our last day of heat for a few days. That, in itself, is cause for celebration.

A pair of Mourning Doves camping out on our rooftop internet antenna – last night before dusk. Sliver of moon below them

I typed a big long comment and am having so much trouble posting it. No idea why. So I'm sending this little one. Hope it works.

I have bacon if you want to share. I'll even throw in the mayo.

Be careful in that heat. Hubby works outdoors and it is a scorcher. Make sure you hydrate often.

Enjoy your bounty. It looks tasty!

Yay for the first tomato! :) My potted veggies took a hit from last evening's storms. I hope they are ok - my serrano pepper plant was really starting to grow like crazy, but it almost looks like it might be broke at its base! :-( When I bought it, it was the last serrano plant left and it was quite pathetic looking. It has bounced back and looks so lush now, I will be quite disappointed if the storm killed it.

Hooray for cooler weather. We haven't picked any ripe tomatoes yet, but I'm ready. I honestly don't like tomatoes much, but I love our home canned salsa!!!
