Thursday Walkabout ~ Simple Beauty

The neighbors started harvesting their corn this week. This is the first year we’ve had a cornfield next to us, so the whole process has been very new and interesting to me.

We’ve had some really beautiful weather this week – until Wednesday, when things turned sharply colder. We enjoyed some nice outdoor walks early in the week.

On Monday, the blue sky reflections in the ponds were gorgeous. Here, you’ll also see one of my little blue hydrangeas (oh yes, again!), still blue and beautiful with only a slight amount of frost damage. And the almost-full daytime moon…

Winter berries and greenery, and birds nibbling seeds off the tall fountain grass in the yard. Bottom right - some deer (and people) tracks…berriesBirdsGreens&Tracks

The dogs enjoyed our walks immensely. “What’s that critter in there??”

Oh, and Banjo turned 8 years old this week! Happy Birthday, our sweet Jack Russell Terrier girl! She’s also known around here as “Human Dog.” I’m tellin’ ya, she is just too smart.

Dear Bloggy Friends, I hope this week is going well for each of you. Please stay tuned for our first Flat Creek Farm Giveaway. Soon, very soon :)

I love how you did all of your photos in a collage. How did you do that?

Absolutely beautiful pictures as usual!!! We had a "little girl" dressed in a dog suit a few years back and still miss the fun things she did. Banjo is a cutie! I bet the corn harvesting was cool to watch, we sure don't have such things around here....

I don't know what I want worse, the blue hydrangea, or Banjo's sweet face.

Tammy the collages are some beautiful photography! I love the frosty leaves. I bet those are Goldfinches on the Fountain Grass. I can't believe you still have Hydrangeas! Summer, sigh. My potted ferns are still hangin' in there but tonight will be the end! 15 to 18 degrees here :( Banjo pup, those eyes!

Your collage appears to have a real nip to it. So crisp..the elements are dramatic. I love that. It hasn't snowed up in the mountains here yet..but that's when we can say- ya, we really have our winter season. I love the reflections, colors and the leaves here- Your dogs look happy. Our chow/shepherd turned three last week, but I feel she needed a birthday hat! ha. The hydrangea is beautiful too!
Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend-

Tammy, you have really captured beauty with your camera. I love the collection of blue. Your little dog Banjo is to cute.

Today we will finish up on the milo. It is so cold here in Kansas and the snow is coming.

Well I am off for another morning at Stutzman's Greenhouse. I will post again on the class.

Blessings, Linda
