Thursday Walkabout: Yep! More Snow…

It’s been a daily job to keep the feathered friends happy, but they’re more than worth it.

Wintry Birds2 2-10

We’ve had two snowstorms in a week’s time, with more predicted for the weekend. I know we’re not alone in our winter weather, but sheesh, bring on Spring already!

I stepped out of my color comfort zone here and transformed everything to sepia tones with Pioneer Woman’s Soft and Faded action. (Photoshop Actions are so much fun!). We have snowy scenes and some of our frozen fog from this morning.

Enjoy your day! I hope to be back with a Valentine’s post and an update to our 2010 mini-journal  later this week. But if not…

♥ Happy Valentine’s Day, Friends! ♥

I love sepia! And I know what you mean, the birdies are eating faster than I can fill! lol

Ahhh, Happy V-Day back at ya! We are with you on the snow... we have feet... and no immediate relief in sight. I bet it makes tending to Ruby and Gracie a bit more challenging. Oh how I miss grassy pastures!

I cannot believe the beauty..the lovely cardinals bright and cheery red- contrasted with the gorgeous snow! Below, your sepia tones are delightful! Outstanding Tammy!! You found photoshop easy? I should try it again. I work with Picasa. The top right one with the wagon below the trees..each detail of these captures are soft and delicate. Thanks, what a treat! Still no snow on the mountains yet here..can't wait, ha (serious)..I know so many parts of the country are getting slammed! (my sympathy) Anyway, have a great day- Aloha, Regina

Ooooo! The sepia is nice! I miss cardinals - I'm from the south and I grew up with these at the feeders all the time. Not a one out west. How sad. But don't you love how their color pops against the backdrop of the snow?

Beautiful! I love ALL the cardinals. They really brighten up a cold winter's day. One of my favorite things to do with my photos is to try different tones to see what they would look like.

Oh what beautiful pictures!!!

How could you want spring to come when it's so beautiful outside your windows??

Just kidding! We had 24 inches yesterday! I really want Christmas to come and then New Year's because that means 2011 will be here and my hubby will be home! So I'm all for rushing the year away!

I so want to find the time to expore more photography techniques. Someone above mentioned Picasa which I've been meaning to look at. Wished you lived closer -- I'd ask for some pointers!

Ok, what is frozen fog?
Your pictures are breathtaking....the first set the colors are lovely and the second set equally beautiful. I've never had a cardinal, and to capture one in flight, cool!

Tammy, you have done it again. The pictures are sooooooo pretty! I love the cardinal in flight! Every morning I wake up and look out my kitchen window. Grandpa and Grandma Stubbs planted a evergreen tree years ago. It now is our bird haven house. We have lots of feeders under the branches. I enjoy my birds.

Thank you for letting us all see the Lord's beauty. You really do take lovely pictures.

Blessings sweet friend, Linda

Wow Tammy, the birds are gorgeous and I LOVE your sepia shots. :) I know what you mean about spring... I'm in Ohio right now, and it's just crazy here, almost 2 feet of snow on the ground and another 9 inches forecasted in the next 24 hours or so! Now I remember why I love Kansas better than Ohio, LOL. Hope you guys have had a great weekend.

The photos are beautiful this week...they always are...but this week outstanding!! I love the contrast between the color of the birds and the snow in the first collage. The sepia tones are really good...you should step out of your comfort zone more often (grin).

Hope you had a great Valentines Day.
