Duck.. duck.. goose!

Before the most recent snow, we had several duck visitors. Mallards, I believe?

Not sure about this group. Note the larger duck with slightly fluffy head.. one vote was for possibly a Gadwall. What do you think?

Hubby and I took a snow tour yesterday and HE spotted a pair of geese. I captured this one departing the scene. Oh, how I love them!

Winter has been “fun,” but I’m ready to move on. Raise your hand if you agree! The Fiddler has a birthday this weekend, and that’s also my cue to start some tomatoes, peppers and more in Jiffy pots with a grow light in the garage. I’ve also ordered my first round of seeds for the season. Trying to move forward…

Have a fabulous remainder to your week… promise me you’ll think Spring! (or try!)

Very cool. Don't know much about ducks sorry.

Spring IS coming--it is warmer each day AND the snow is melting
AGAIN. Hopefully this is the last of it.

Lovely post - its when you see Mallards in images such as yours do you remember how beautiful they are. Unfortunately we very much take them for granted over here in the UK and are often over looked.

The Mallard are Mallards! And that Grey front / black tail arrangement does look like a Gadwall - but I am not an expert in ducks of the US!

Cheers and thanks for linking to WBW - Stewart M - Melbourne

Beautiful photos, the ducks are just lovely.

Thank you for the encouraging words, hard day for sure to let go of our sweet girl. His timing in calling her home was evident though, we awoke to 5 inches of lake effect this morning. It would have been terrible to bury her in this cold and snow.

Hope you had a blessed Easter. :)
