I.am.alive

Please excuse my unplanned absence. Somehow life got in the way. Thanks for the well wishes and concern! I’m really just fine, just a bad blogger these days! I’ll try to do better.

Several things have transpired around here:

1) We have new, faster internet as of today. Yay.

2) I turned 50.

3) We traded our dune buggy for a four-wheel drive farm truck. How’s that for practicality? We were both a little sad to see the buggy go though…

I have about 1000 pictures and other things I want to share, but first I promised Mr. W I would finally post updates of his wonderful chicken coop. This is his project and I think he should be very proud. I am! There is more to be done, plus the Aviary/Run has to be started soon. The coop will be red, just like my little coop. I’ll let the pictures speak for themselves. He also added the niftiest little chicken door today. I’ll have to post it later. Ok, no more chit-chat from me… here’s the coop from almost beginning to present.

And, the journey to the permanent location… which will be near the Donkey Barn.

I will be repaying the neighbor in eggs for quite awhile (once they start laying). He donated the wonderful, insulated tilt-out windows. Too fancy, and much fancier than what we have in our old farmhouse.. hehe!

Since I have a better internet connection, I don’t have that excuse anymore… so I DO plan to be back soon. In the meantime, a few gratuitous critter pictures.

I like the farm truck.
That chicken coop is just so sassy. Your chickens are going to lay twice as many eggs as normal chickens.

LOVE the chicken coop - it's so very cute and they'll just love it. And, of course, I absolutely adore the critter photos.

You are amazing.

I was worried about you too. So glad to hear it was just busy-ness!!! First off, Happy Birthday!!! I hope you had an absolutely WONDERFUL DAY!!!! Now to the chicken coop. OH MY GOODNESS!! That is like the Bellagio of chicken coops. My poor chickens live down in the trailer park compared to yours (and I am NOT bashing trailer parks, I lived in a trailer until I was 5 years old!) You guys have done a GREAT JOB and it looks just beautiful! Please keep the pictures coming! Welcome Back!!!

Now that coop is just wayyyy toooo cute! The blacksmith was even impressed with the checkered floor and the red screen door.

It's needs to be featured in Country Living magazine!

Our garden too is muddy, but I think you all had more rain than us.

Tomatoes are slowing down, pumpkins are all vines, no pumpkins. Patty pan squash are about the same way.

Oh I remember those 4-H days. Our kids had steers until they realized you make more $$ and spend less time doing hams.

Mom's auction is sunday, house closing is next Tuesday. Then I hope to have some ME TIME!!

Tell PW hi, (like he isn't reading this)

I'm very impressed with that chicken coop - window and all! Our son has chickens and loves messing with them. He's made some pretty impressive coops too.

Happy Birthday to You!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How fun! I had to laugh when I saw White Lightning on your photo. That is the name the boys gave my honey's truck. Then one of my friends said every time I said that she thought it wasn't nice, because that is what they used to call moon shine. Hmm, never heard that before. I still like White Lighning, not the moon shine, the name!. Now there are two of them!

Another coop, I am making your curtains tonight!!!!!! Can't wait to see the pictures you are going to send me.........right?

Love you friend and hope your day is soooo special!
